I watched a video on YouTube from Finish Carpentry TV about how he gets such tight miters on his job as a finish carpenter. After watching the video, I ordered one to help me with my basement remodel. I received the 505P-7 Miter Saw Protractor in the mail and decided to give it a try. I have always struggled with both inside and outside miters while doing finish trim. I have all the best tools and gear for construction and carpentry, but my miters always needed extra attention to make them look good. This tool is amazing! Nothing in any house has perfect right angles and this tool allows you to figure out that one or two degree difference on the finished edge that sets your work apart from the rest. Whether you are a professional or a DIY homeowner, this tool will help you make professional looking miters that require little to no attention prior to painting or staining the trim. (No more hiding bad miters with caulking or putty.) I have used this tool on baseboard, crown moulding, window trim, quarter round and I even used it to figure out the angles on my outside deck rails and stairs. I highly recommend this tool for any carpenter or wood worker that wants to step up their game and set themselves apart from shoddy looking miters.
