(7/20/2020) I bought this case for my 12" Steel Combination set (C33H-12-4R) when I noticed surface rust beginning to form on the heads. I lined the lid and the cutouts with 1/16" thick leather (a loose french fit) and finished the interior exposed wood surfaces with a turpentine/wax/linseed oil finish. I have had no problems with rust since. The tool is protected, cushioned, and moisture proofed by the combination of the case, leather, and finish.
